I was recently pointed in the direction of Phil Hansen, a Washington-based artist who is currently engaged in a project called "Goodbye Art". The concept reminds me of one of my favorite artists, Andy Goldsworthy. He is a British environmentalist/sculptor who creates temporary art in nature, such as this:


Maybe it's the Buddhist in me, but I love the idea of creating something, then letting it go. Phil also uses nature in his Goodbye Art, and I think he's produced some really interesting work. See the video (and his site) for more.
